ACIers – in all roles and levels – are truly your colleagues and many are your friends. Our size and reach allow you to see the global impact of your work. You are visible, your talents are valued, and you are empowered to shape the future of payments.

As a Associate Platform Engineer in Limerick, you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world’s payments ecosystem!

This purpose of this Associate Platform Engineer is

ACI's Internal Developer Platform is the foundation every product and delivery team builds on — cloud-native infrastructure spanning Kubernetes/OpenShift and multiple cloud providers, CI/CD, observability, and the golden paths that let engineers ship payment software quickly and safely. As Associate Platform Engineer, you'll build and support well-scoped pieces of this platform under the guidance of senior engineers, learning the infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, and observability practices that make it work — with AI-assisted tooling built into how you learn and work from day one.

A typical day at ACI for a Associate Platform Engineer is:

  • Build and maintain well-defined pieces of the platform (CI/CD pipeline components, Kubernetes manifests, IaC modules) under the guidance of senior platform engineers

  • Learn and apply the platform's golden-path tooling and standards, and start noticing where the “right way” could be made easier for other engineers

  • Support observability and monitoring for the services you help build — instrumenting logs and metrics, and learning what “healthy” looks like for platform infrastructure

  • Participate in the platform's on-call rotation as a learning experience, shadowing senior engineers on incidents before taking on independent ownership

  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools daily to accelerate your own learning, and start noticing where AI-assisted tooling could help the platform's users, not just you

  • Write infrastructure-as-code for well-scoped components, learning Terraform/Kubernetes patterns from code review feedback

  • Participate in incident postmortems and learn the platform's reliability practices firsthand

  • Ask questions early and often about how pieces of the platform fit together — building foundational systems thinking about infrastructure at scale

  • Build working relationships with the engineering teams who depend on the platform, and start understanding their needs firsthand

  • Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
