GenAI-based coding assistants and autonomous coding agents, such as Codex- and Claude Code-like systems, are increasingly used for code generation, completion, refactoring, testing, debugging, and optimization. While these tools can improve software-development productivity, the energy efficiency of the software they create is becoming increasingly important for sustainable production systems.
This thesis will investigate how coding agents can be integrated with energy analysis, profiling, etc. tools in its pipeline, including design, implementing, and evaluation. The expected result is a prototype and experimental evaluation of an energy-aware GenAI-assisted software-development workflow. The outcome may include:
