About the role

Primary Position Objective



The Senior Systems Engineer (Operational Technology) is accountable for driving the strategic direction, execution, and continuous improvement of digital transformation products that support global Supply Chain Centres of Excellence (COEs) including engineering, maintenance, production, planning, logistics, and factory management.

This senior role provides leadership, vision, and roadmap ownership for complex, multi-site product initiatives while ensuring alignment to the broader Digital Supply Chain strategy. You will shape product strategy, guide high-performing agile teams, and partner closely with senior leaders across the global network to standardise processes, harmonise data, and scale digital capabilities.

You will influence end-to-end digital transformation outcomes by deeply understanding Supply Chain operations, championing best practices, and ensuring that product solutions deliver measurable business value across efficiency, quality, compliance, and cost. This role is critical to driving global operational excellence and enabling ResMed’s long-term manufacturing and Supply Chain vision.


Responsibilities and Accountabilities


The Senior Systems Engineer (Operational Technology) serves as the product owner and strategic leader for enterprise-scale digital solutions across multiple factories and global teams.


Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Define, communicate, and continuously refine the global product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Digital Technology, Quality, and Operational Excellence.
  • Champion standardisation of processes, systems, and data across all sites.
  • Assess emerging technologies (e.g., Smart Factory, IoT, AI/ML, automation) to shape future-state capabilities.

Product Ownership & Delivery Excellence

  • Lead multiple agile teams (product owners, business analysts, engineers, data teams) to deliver scalable digital products.
  • Prioritise product backlogs based on business value, risk, and strategic objectives.
  • Ensure effective implementation of complex systems (e.g., WCS, WMS, MES, ERP integrations, industrial automation, quality systems, OT/IT platforms).
  • Drive the global deployment, change management, and adoption strategy across regions.

Operational Expertise & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain processes to identify digital optimisation opportunities.
  • Oversee KPIs tied to productivity, quality, throughput, downtime reduction, and yield improvement.
  • Lead cross-site workshops, design sessions, and stakeholder engagements to drive global alignment.
  • Introduce global best practices, reusable templates, and process harmonisation standards.
  • Partner with data analytics teams to enhance visibility, performance insights, and predictive capabilities.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the senior liaison between factory operations and digital teams.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and drive consensus on major transformation programs.
  • Communicate product performance, risks, and milestones to executive leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • 3 to 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing, Supply Chain, digital transformation, or related engineering/operations domains.
  • Formal qualification in Engineering, Supply Chain, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing systems including WCS, WMS, MES, SCADA, PLCs, ERP integration, and industrial automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Smart Factory technologies, including IoT, OT/IT integration, digital manufacturing platforms, database integration, and MQTT-based connectivity solutions.
  • Use Ignition to build and support SCADA/ MES solutions, configure modules, and manage tags and data models.
  • Connect machines and equipment using OPC-UA, MQTT, and PLC interfaces, ensuring reliable and secure data flow from equipment to OT/enterprise systems.
  • Strong documentation, organisational, analytical, and communication skills, including engagement with global senior leaders.
  • Experience deploying enterprise systems across multiple factories or global networks.

Preferred

  • Experience working with data analytics platforms (Power BI or Tableau) and familiarity with SQL or enterprise data lakes/warehouses.
  • Proven track record in multi-site digital product deployments, system scaling, or major transformation initiatives.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity considerations in manufacturing/OT environments.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian suite, collaboration platforms, and requirements management tools.
  • Good understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
