As Director of Digital Engineering, you will be responsible for defining, building, and operating the organization’s digital technology platforms and engineering capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, digital innovation, and technology execution, ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing digital products that create customer value and support business growth.
You will lead the strategy, architecture, development, and operation of key digital platforms, including IoT, AI, Analytics, customer-facing applications, and digital services. Working closely with business and technology leaders, you will drive digital transformation initiatives, establish engineering best practices, and build a high-performing organisation capable of delivering world-class digital experiences.
• Define and execute the Digital Engineering strategy, creating a unified vision across IoT, AI, analytics, customer applications, and digital services.
• Lead the development and operation of enterprise digital platforms, including IoT ecosystems, AI capabilities, analytics platforms, and customer engagement solutions.
• Establish architecture standards, governance frameworks, and modern engineering practices that support scalability, security, reliability, and innovation.
• Drive platform modernisation, cloud adoption, automation initiatives, and technology roadmaps that enable future business growth.
• Build and lead high-performing engineering teams while fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
• Partner with commercial, product, service, and operational leaders to deliver exceptional customer experiences and accelerate digital transformation across the organisation.
• Significant leadership experience within Digital Engineering, Software Engineering, Digital Platforms, Technology, or a related discipline.
• Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale platforms across areas such as IoT, AI/ML, analytics, cloud technologies, and customer-facing digital applications.
• Strong understanding of modern architecture principles including cloud-native, API-first, event-driven, and platform-based approaches.
• Experience leading software engineering organisations and implementing Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern software delivery practices.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align technology investment and digital strategy with business objectives and customer needs.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing executive leadership teams and driving cross-functional change.
• Lead the future direction of digital platforms and engineering capabilities within a technology-driven global organisation.
• Shape enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives spanning AI, analytics, connected products, and customer experience platforms.
• Work with senior leaders to influence strategic technology investment and innovation programmes.
• Build and develop talented engineering teams while creating a culture focused on innovation, quality, and operational excellence.
